SANTA FE (DA) — Curaçao swimmer Jayden Loran finished seventh in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke final Monday at the 2026 South American Games in Argentina.
Loran touched the wall in 29.18 seconds at the Invencible Centro Acuático Provincial. He competed from lane 7 and recorded a reaction time of 0.61 seconds.
Brazil’s João Gomes won gold in 27.13, a South American Games record. Fellow Brazilian Caio Pumputis took silver in 27.31, while Chile’s Mariano Lazzerini earned bronze in 28.03.
Colombia’s Juan Garcia placed fourth in 28.30, followed by Panama’s Raul Antadillas in 28.46 and Chile’s Maximiliano Cereceda in 29.14.
Loran finished 0.02 seconds ahead of Argentina’s Dante Nicola, who completed the eight-man final in 29.20.
