WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Former athlete and sports administrator Rignaal Jean Francisca will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Curaçao Sports and Olympic Federation (FDOK) at Honors Night 2026. The ceremony will also recognize Curaçao’s outstanding sporting achievements of 2025.
FDOK announced that the event will take place Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel.
Francisca will be the evening’s only Hall of Fame inductee. His selection recognizes his longstanding contribution to Curaçao sports as both an athlete and an administrator.
The awards program includes 9 categories covering athletes, officials, technical and administrative leaders, and national teams. It will culminate with the presentation of the Kopa Bèto Adriana to the most outstanding sporting figure of 2025.
The nominees are:
- Youth prospect: D’Jadrien Dall (taekwondo), Gabriel L. Ruiz (karate), Beniaiah Shah (tennis).
- Female youth athlete: Mikhaela Boekhoudt (table tennis), Angely Curiel (athletics), Katherina Brazil (tennis).
- Female senior athlete: Glenka Antonia (athletics), Ingrid Gonesh (sport shooting), Kadisha Martina (football).
- Male youth athlete: Skye Prinssen (boxing), Raminge Laker deWindt (athletics), Jermain Brigitta Perez (karate).
- Male senior athlete: Ruviene Mathilda (karate), Jady Gogulski (boxing), Barath Ibrahim (billiards).
- Sports official: Xavienne Jordan (volleyball), Rudsel Nepomuceno (karate), Myson Cathalina (baseball).
- Technical leader: Nelson Braafhart (athletics), Carlos Pineda (baseball), Henry Caldera (football).
- Administrative leader: Phaidra Nahar (baseball), Gilbert Martina (football), Liesbeth Luis-Calister (volleyball).
- National team: Curaçao’s national football, baseball and volleyball teams.
