SANTA FE (DA) — Curaçao swimmer Jayden Loran finished seventh in his men’s 50-meter freestyle heat Wednesday at the 2026 South American Games, recording a time of 24.16 seconds and not advancing to the final.
The race marked Loran’s final swimming event of the Games in Santa Fe, Argentina.
His best result came in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke, where he qualified for the eight-man final and placed seventh in 29.18 seconds.
Brazil’s João Gomes won that final in 27.13, setting a South American Games record. Caio Pumputis of Brazil took silver in 27.31, while Chile’s Mariano Lazzerini earned bronze in 28.03.
Loran finished 0.02 seconds ahead of Argentina’s Dante Nicola, who placed eighth in the breaststroke final with a time of 29.20.
