Winkel falls as Curaçao remains alive in doubles while mixed match is postponed at Panama 2026

PANAMA CITY (DA) — Leonardo Winkel was eliminated Tuesday in the round of 16 of the boys’ singles draw, and Curaçao remained in action in boys’ doubles while its mixed doubles match was postponed for the rest of the day at the IV Juegos Suramericanos de la Juventud Panamá 2026.

Winkel fell to Uruguay’s Felipe Vázquez by a 6-0, 6-0 score in an official result.

Later, Brandon Bridgewater and Winkel were still playing their boys’ doubles quarterfinal against Peru’s Nicolás Baena and Alessandro Rubini.

At that point, the Peruvian pair had taken the first set 6-1 and led 1-0 in the second.

The first-round mixed doubles match between Curaçao’s Keziah Fluonia and Bridgewater and the Uruguayan team of Sofía Barbosa and Vázquez was postponed for the rest of the day.
