CAP CANA (DA) — Jean-Julien Rojer and Marcelo Melo advanced to the doubles semifinals at Copa Cap Cana on Friday with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 quarterfinal win over Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner.
Rojer and Melo came through a tight opening set before taking control in the second to close out the match in straight sets at the ATP Challenger 175 event in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.
The win moved Rojer and Melo within one victory of the doubles final.
They are set to face Arneodo and Demoliner for a place in the title match. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday.
For Rojer, the result keeps the Curaçao presence alive deep into the doubles draw at one of the week’s top Challenger events.
