BASSETERRE (DA) — Amazia Burnet scored in second-half stoppage time and Shi-jona Martina also found the net as Curaçao Women rallied for a 2-1 win over St. Kitts and Nevis Women on Friday in Group E of the 2025-26 Concacaf W Qualifiers.
St. Kitts and Nevis struck first almost immediately. Sherema Blake scored in the opening minute to put the home side ahead 1-0, and that lead held through halftime.
Curaçao created chances throughout the match. Destiny Koko hit the left post in the 11th minute, while Burnet, Ludmarie Flaneur and Martina all tested goalkeeper Craivecia Sutton before the breakthrough finally came.
Martina equalized in the 58th minute with a right-footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner to make it 1-1.
The match appeared headed for a draw until Burnet delivered the winner in the first minute of stoppage time. Martina set her up, and Burnet finished with a right-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner.
The victory lifted Curaçao to fourth place in Group E with three points from four matches, one point ahead of St. Kitts and Nevis. Panama finished top of the group with 12 points, followed by Cuba with seven and Aruba with six.
