AMSTERDAM (DA) — Ajax has signed 15-year-old defender Ky-an Martis to his first contract, with the deal set to begin this summer and run through June 30, 2029.
Martis, a Netherlands youth international born May 4, 2010, in Rotterdam, joined Ajax from Sparta Rotterdam’s academy in the summer of 2025. This season he has been part of the Ajax U16 squad coached by Daan van Oudheusden.
Ajax director of football Marijn Beuker said Martis has made strong progress with the U16s and shown the qualities the club wants in a defender within its style of play.
“Ky-an has developed well in the U16 and shows the characteristics we look for in a defender within our style of play,” Beuker said. “Ky-an is physically strong, comfortable on the ball and able to make the right choices in possession, allowing him to use space in the build-up with his passing and dribbling. We are confident he can continue to develop within our academy in the coming years and look forward to his next steps at Ajax.”
Through his family, Martis has Curaçaoan roots, adding another name to the long line of Dutch-Curaçaoan talents to come through Ajax’s youth system.
