Curaçao rank 29th as Netherlands fall to No. 10 and Aruba sit 58th in new WBSC update

PULLY (DA) — Curaçao stood 29th, the Netherlands dropped to 10th and Aruba ranked 58th in the latest WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking released after the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

The Netherlands remain the highest-ranked of the three with 2,358 points, despite slipping one place in the new update. Curaçao have 252 points at No. 29, while Aruba are 58th with 39 points.

The WBSC said the rankings include results from the past four years across sanctioned tournaments, from the U-12 Baseball World Cup to the Premier12 and World Baseball Classic, along with continental events and friendlies.

The latest update folded in results from the 2026 World Baseball Classic, replacing points awarded from the 2023 edition.

At the top of the ranking, Japan stayed No. 1 with 6,337 points, followed by Chinese Taipei, the United States and South Korea. Venezuela, the newly crowned World Baseball Classic champion, climbed closer to the top four after earning 1,150 points for its title run and moved to fifth with 3,992 points.

Puerto Rico rose to sixth and pushed Mexico to seventh. Australia made the biggest move inside the top 10, jumping two places to ninth, while the Netherlands now sit just behind them in 10th.

The World Baseball Classic standings also shaped the latest points distribution. Venezuela finished first, followed by the United States, the Dominican Republic and Italy. The Netherlands placed 16th in that tournament and received 289 points.

In all, 85 men’s baseball programs across the five Olympic continents are now included in the WBSC ranking.
