WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao’s national football team is calling on supporters at home and across the diaspora to rally behind a new “Demonstrate the Blue Heart” campaign designed to turn the side’s historic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup into broader support for football development on the island.
Led by the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) and the Blue Wave movement, the initiative invites fans to celebrate the achievement, back the national team and help create a lasting social impact through the sport.
Fans are being encouraged to wear official products, share their Blue Heart online and contribute to the development of youth football while creating opportunities for the next generation.
The campaign is being backed publicly by prominent Curaçao and Dutch figures with strong ties to the island, including Jörgen Raymann, Jeon, Churandy Martina, Tania Kross, Jandino Asporaat, Andruw Jones, Hensley Meulens and Izaline Calister.
“The qualification is not only a sporting achievement,” FFK president Gilbert Martina said. “It shows exactly what commitment, structure and consistency can produce. By showing our Blue Heart, we carry our belief forward with conviction, making sure every young person on the island feels supported and capable of dreaming big.”
As part of the initiative, FFK has officially launched a merchandise collection with Voetbalshop.nl, including shirts, caps, scarves and flags. The Blue Wave merchandise line is now available through www.voetbalshop.nl/curacao and will soon also be sold at Sambil Shopping Centre in Willemstad.
The campaign centers on visible expressions of support for Curaçao and its national team, including the official Blue Heart supporter sweater and the hand-over-heart gesture that organizers say symbolizes pride, unity and belief in the island’s future.
Proceeds from all official sales of Curaçao national team products will be invested directly into FFK development programs, including youth football, local initiatives and the growth of women’s football on the island.
