WILLEMSTAD (DA) — The Legends Football Tournament Curaçao will return for its fourth edition on April 9 and 10, with organizers expanding the field to eight countries for what is shaping up as the Caribbean’s premier football legends event.
The two-day tournament will be held at Capital Ç, next to Curaçao International Airport, and will feature fast-paced matches played in a 2 x 15-minute format with national teams made up of five former international stars.
After operating with six teams in previous editions, this year’s tournament grows to eight, with Spain and Italy joining Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands and host nation Curaçao.
The event is presented by Curaçao Airport Holding in collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board.
Among the headline names announced are Rivaldo Ferreira and Marcio Santos for Brazil, Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama and Faustino Asprilla for Colombia, Ariel Ortega and Rolando Schiavi for Argentina, Wesley Sneijder and Clarence Seedorf for the Netherlands, and Ricardo Quaresma and Vítor Baía for Portugal.
Spain will make its debut in the competition with Fernando Morientes and Michel Salgado, while Italy enters for the first time with Marco Materazzi and Alessandro Nesta.
Curaçao’s squad is set to feature local legends including Stallone Isenia, Ranties Rosina and Ludjino “Jin” Hojer.
The tournament gives fans a rare chance to watch globally recognized former stars up close across two evenings of matches and entertainment.
Ticket prices are listed at XCG 75 per adult per evening and XCG 50 per child up to age 15 per day. Combo tickets are available for XCG 125 for adults and XCG 80 for children.
An exclusive VIP section is also being offered at XCG 250 per day or XCG 470 for a combo ticket.
