GUATEMALA (DA) — Curaçao opened play in the CONCACAF U-17 Qualifiers in Guatemala with a 1-0 loss to Cuba, according to an update shared by the team delegation.
Cuba’s Deibi Borrell scored the game’s only goal in the 19th minute.
Curaçao had a couple of chances to level the match at 1-1 but couldn’t finish, leaving the team chasing points as group play continues.
Curaçao will look to respond in its second match against Belize on Feb. 8, 2026, scheduled for 7 p.m. in Guatemala. The delegation said the team will work “even harder” heading into the next game.
