ZWOLLE (DA) — Curaçao international Sherel Floranus will miss PEC Zwolle’s trip to Willem II on Friday as he continues recovering from the injury he sustained against Go Ahead Eagles.
His continued absence comes after his inclusion in Curaçao’s squad for the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals against Panama. At club level, the defender has yet to recover sufficiently to return to action.
Interim coach Dennis van der Ree said Floranus has begun doing some physical work again, although his recovery still needs time.
“He can slowly start doing some things again,” Van der Ree said. “It will take a little more time, but things are moving in the right direction.”
Van der Ree also indicated that Floranus is approaching a return to work on the field. For now, however, the left back remains unavailable for the match in Tilburg, which is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m.
