Panama names 25 for Nations League quarterfinals against Curaçao

PANAMA CITY (DA) — Thomas Christiansen has selected 25 players to face Curaçao in the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals, with places in the Final Four and the 2027 Gold Cup at stake.

Curaçao will host the first leg Nov. 12 at Stadion Ergilio Hato in Willemstad. The series concludes Nov. 15 at Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez in Panama City, where the teams will decide who advances to the Final Four in March and the Gold Cup in June.

Panama’s squad includes Pumas midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla, Beşiktaş defender Amir Murillo and Club León forward Ismael Díaz. Only two of the selected players compete in Panama’s domestic league: Sporting San Miguelito goalkeeper Marcos De León and Plaza Amador midfielder Daivis Murillo.

Preparations are scheduled to begin with a training camp Nov. 7, when the locally based players report to a hotel in Panama City. Those playing abroad will join after completing their club commitments.

The first training session is set for Nov. 8 at PANDEPORTES’ Centro de Alto Rendimiento. Panama is scheduled to travel to Curaçao on Nov. 11, a day before the opening match.
