BOCA CHICA (DA) — Curaçao’s Placement Round game against Cuba was postponed Monday as rain forced organizers to call off the entire day’s schedule at the U18 Pan American Baseball Championship in the Dominican Republic.
Curaçao is scheduled to face Canada on Tuesday at 1 p.m. on Field 1 at the IPL Academy. Brazil and Cuba are scheduled to play on the same field at 10 a.m.
The Pan American Baseball Confederation said Monday’s affected games would be rescheduled. Organizers tried to move games to later in the day, but renewed rainfall prevented play.
Nicaragua and Panama were the only teams to take the field, reaching the second inning before rain interrupted their Super Round game.
The other Super Round games affected were Venezuela against the United States and Puerto Rico against the Dominican Republic. Mexico’s Placement Round matchup with Canada also was postponed.
