Ozzie Albies doubles as Dodgers take 2-1 NLDS lead over Braves

ATLANTA (DA) — Curaçao-born second baseman Ozzie Albies doubled, but the Atlanta Braves were held to five hits in a 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night in Game 3 of the National League Division Series at Truist Park.

The Dodgers moved ahead 2-1 in the series after scoring all three of their runs in the fourth inning against Chris Sale. Enrique Hernández hit a two-run homer before Freddie Freeman added a solo shot.

Atlanta answered with its only run in the fifth, with Drake Baldwin credited with the RBI.

Albies went 1-for-4 with his first double of the series and struck out twice. He was coming off a postseason stretch in which he had reached base frequently, drawing five walks through Atlanta’s first five playoff games.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto earned the win for Los Angeles, while Sale took the loss. Edwin Díaz recorded the save.

The Dodgers finished with eight hits to Atlanta’s five. Both pitching staffs recorded 12 strikeouts.
