Aruba’s Damian Pinas stays unbeaten in UFC with 75-second knockout

SALT LAKE CITY (DA) — Aruba’s Damian Pinas knocked out Andrey Pulyaev in 75 seconds Saturday at UFC 332, earning his third consecutive first-round victory in the promotion.

Pinas landed an uppercut to Pulyaev’s chin during their middleweight bout at the Delta Center. Referee Herb Dean immediately stopped the fight at 1:15 of the opening round.

The 24-year-old improved to 11-1 overall and 3-0 in the UFC. Pulyaev, of Russia, fell to 10-6 overall and 1-4 in the promotion.

Pinas has finished all three of his UFC opponents in the first round since debuting in February. He stopped Wes Schultz at 2:30 in his first appearance, then knocked out Cesar Almeida at 4:44 at UFC 329 in July.

He earned his UFC contract by knocking out Vitor Costa at 1:46 of the first round on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2025.

Pinas fights out of Oranjestad, Aruba. Born in Suriname, he moved to Aruba at 16 and began training at 19, starting with boxing before taking up mixed martial arts.
