Sherel Floranus reportedly returns from injury ahead of Groningen match

ZWOLLE (DA) — Curaçao defender Sherel Floranus has reportedly returned from injury ahead of PEC Zwolle’s visit to FC Groningen on Friday. The Eredivisie match at Euroborg kicks off at 8 p.m. local time.

Floranus missed PEC’s 7-0 home defeat to Feyenoord on Sept. 13 after physical problems surfaced earlier that week.

His last appearance came in the 2-2 draw at Sparta Rotterdam on Sept. 4, when he started and was substituted in the 75th minute.

Groningen defender Tyrique Mercera is reportedly unavailable for Friday’s match.

Floranus is also among the 23 players selected by Curaçao head coach Dick Advocaat for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League window.

The national team opens away to Costa Rica on Sept. 24, then hosts Nicaragua on Sept. 27 and Trinidad and Tobago on Oct. 1. Curaçao completes its four-match schedule away to Trinidad and Tobago on Oct. 4.

The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) has scheduled training sessions for Sept. 21 and 22 at the field of Jong Holland football club. The team will train at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium in Costa Rica on Sept. 23.
