WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Gersinio Constansia will work with Curaçao’s senior men’s national team during the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches under a new mentorship program that gives local coaches experience alongside its international technical staff.
A former national team assistant coach, Constansia is the first participant in the initiative launched this year by the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK). His assignment will include match preparation, work with players based abroad and advanced video and data analysis.
The program’s reach is intended to extend beyond those selected. After each placement, participating coaches will share their knowledge and experience with other local coaches, helping bring what they learn with the national team into football across the island.
Constansia has worked with several Curaçao youth national teams and Jong Colombia. He also has experience in domestic and international youth competitions and World Cup qualifying.
His placement will provide access to the senior team’s daily operations, with opportunities to develop his understanding of training methods, tactical preparation and performance analysis.
Interim FFK President Fabi Constansia said strengthening local football expertise is a central priority for the federation. She said the aim is to establish lasting cooperation between experienced international staff members and local coaches to support the development of the game in Curaçao.
The FFK hopes to involve more local coaches in the coming years as part of its broader investment in education and development for coaches and other technical personnel.
