RAFAELA (DA) — Boxer Fabian Williams claimed bronze Thursday for Curaçao’s first medal at the Santa Fe 2026 South American Games, finishing his run in the men’s 65-kilogram semifinals.
Williams lost a 4-1 split decision to Uruguay’s Santiago Cardozo but had already secured a bronze medal by reaching the last four.
Three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Cardozo and a fourth favored him 29-28. Williams won all three rounds on the remaining judge’s card, which read 30-27 in his favor.
On the closest card, Williams took the opening round before Cardozo won the next two to secure his place in the final.
