WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao goalkeeper Eloy Room earned a place on the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 28 after a late penalty save helped Miami FC secure a point on the road against Brooklyn FC.
Room made four saves at Maimonides Park, including the crucial stop from the penalty spot in the closing stages. The Curaçao international also registered one high claim and 11 recoveries during the match.
The performance earned Room the goalkeeper position in the league’s weekly selection.
Room has continued to provide Miami with important moments this season, with his latest penalty save coming during a road result in Brooklyn.
Lexington SC forward Phillip Goodrum was voted USL Championship Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick in a 4-1 victory over Oakland Roots SC. Goodrum received 82% of the vote from the USL National Media Panel.
Hartford Athletic winger Michee Ngalina finished second in the voting after recording a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
