ABHA (DA) — Curaçao international Juriën Gaari will remain with Abha Club for the club’s return to the Saudi Pro League.
Abha confirmed Thursday that the 32-year-old defender will continue with the club. The length and financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Gaari joined Abha from Al-Hazem in August 2025 and made 31 league appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, helping the club win the Saudi First Division title and secure promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
The center back, who can also play on the right side of the defense, previously spent six seasons with RKC Waalwijk. He helped RKC earn promotion to the Dutch Eredivisie in 2019 before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2024.
Gaari has represented Curaçao since 2017 and was part of the national team that competed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He started in Curaçao’s scoreless draw against Ecuador, which earned the country its first World Cup point, and also started the final group match against Ivory Coast.
He was also a member of Curaçao’s 2017 Caribbean Cup-winning squad and scored the late equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Jamaica at the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Founded in 1966, Abha Club spent five consecutive seasons in the Saudi Pro League before being relegated in 2024. The club will return to the top division after a two-season absence.
