Curaçao remains 82nd in FIFA ranking after historic World Cup debut

ZURICH (DA) — Curaçao remained 82nd in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking released after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Blue Wave finished the ranking period with 1,285.64 points following its historic debut at the tournament in North America. Curaçao lost to Germany and Ivory Coast and earned a draw against Ecuador.

Curaçao sits eighth among CONCACAF teams, behind Mexico, the United States, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Jamaica.

Mexico climbed four places to No. 10, returning to the top 10 for the first time since March 2022. The United States moved up one spot to 16th, while Canada remained 30th.

Panama suffered the biggest points drop in the update, losing 60.75 points and falling 10 positions to 44th. Costa Rica rose two places to 51st, Honduras slipped one spot to 66th and Jamaica remained 71st.

Haiti dropped five positions to 88th, while Guatemala stayed 97th.

World champion Spain reclaimed the No. 1 ranking after defeating Argentina 1-0 in extra time in the World Cup final. Argentina fell to second, while Norway made the biggest climb by position, advancing 12 places to 19th.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking will be released Oct. 7.
