Mairoshendrick Martinus earns California League Player of the Week honors

ONTARIO (DA) — Mairoshendrick Martinus was named California League Player of the Week by Minor League Baseball after a standout series for the Ontario Tower Buzzers.

Martinus, a 21-year-old shortstop from Willemstad, Curaçao, appeared in all 6 games during Ontario’s series win over Visalia and hit .538. He also had back-to-back 4-hit games and scored 8 runs.

The performance continued a strong 2026 season for Martinus, who is listed as active with Ontario, the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Through 278 at-bats this season, Martinus has 87 hits, 57 runs, 7 home runs, 40 RBIs and 21 stolen bases. He is hitting .313 with a .362 on-base percentage and an .866 OPS.

For his Minor League career, Martinus has 297 hits, 212 runs, 29 home runs, 199 RBIs and 70 stolen bases.
