Barnsley Football Club in advanced talks to sign Curaçao defender Tyrese Noslin

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Barnsley Football Club are in advanced talks to sign Curaçao defender Tyrese Noslin from Telstar for a fee in the region of €300,000, according to sources.

Barnsley play in EFL League One, the third tier of English football. The move would give Noslin a new step after an impressive debut season with Telstar in the Eredivisie.

The 23-year-old remains under contract with Telstar for one more year, meaning the clubs still have to reach an agreement.

Noslin recently appeared for Curaçao at the World Cup in the team’s 2-0 loss to Ivory Coast in Philadelphia, a result that ended Curaçao’s historic first World Cup participation. He came on in the 77th minute alongside Gervane Kastaneer, with the two replacing Deveron Fonville and Juriën Gaari.

Youssouf Hersi, Noslin’s agent, said the defender had hoped for more playing time but remained focused when his chance came.

“Tyrese had hoped that he would get more playing time, that is logical,” Hersi said. “But who am I to question Dick Advocaat’s choices? He showed yesterday that he was hungry.”

Hersi said Noslin is open to the right next step, whether that is in the Netherlands or abroad.

“It is good for him if he now makes a nice next step,” Hersi said. “In the Netherlands or abroad, he is open to both options. His contract with Telstar runs for another year, so we will have to work it out with the club. But for now, it is certainly the best solution for all parties.”
