FIFA confirms Deporte Awe report on Curaçao’s Boca Raton World Cup base camp

ZURICH (DA) — FIFA has officially confirmed that Curaçao will have its FIFA World Cup 2026 team base camp and training site in Boca Raton, Florida, at Florida Atlantic University, confirming Deporte Awe’s earlier report on the national team’s tournament base and training location.

The announcement establishes where Curaçao will train and prepare during the group stage of its first World Cup appearance.

Curaçao’s Group E opponents also have their base camps and training sites confirmed. Ecuador will be based in Columbus, Ohio, and train at the Columbus Crew Performance Centre. Germany will be based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and train at Wake Forest University. Ivory Coast will be based in Philadelphia and train at Philadelphia Union.

Curaçao is one of 39 teams that will be based in the United States during the tournament. FIFA also confirmed that seven teams will be based in Mexico and two in Canada.

Boca Raton is among 25 communities outside the 16 World Cup host cities that will welcome participating national teams, expanding the tournament footprint beyond the cities staging matches.

FIFA said the 48 qualified teams have finalized their team base camp training site selections across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Those locations will serve as the places where players, coaches and staff spend a significant portion of their time during the group stage.

For Curaçao, the confirmation settles an important piece of its World Cup planning as the national team prepares for its historic debut on football’s biggest stage. Deporte Awe previously reported that Curaçao would hold its World Cup base camp in Boca Raton and use Florida Atlantic University as its training site.
