WILLEMSTAD (DA) — The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK), adidas and Voetbalshop.nl have unveiled Curaçao’s new home kit, a blue-and-yellow design featuring light blue waves on the sleeves in a tribute to the national team’s nickname, The Blue Wave.
The jersey uses blue as its base color, representing Curaçao’s sky and sea, with yellow accents inspired by the sun and white incorporated into the federation crest.
The name “Curaçao” is displayed prominently on the back of the jersey and on the socks. The lettering on the shirt also incorporates the national colors and wave design.
Additional details include a multicolored collar, coordinated trim along the bottom of the shorts and contrasting elements on the socks. Player names and numbers will appear in yellow.
FFK President Gilbert Martina said the kit was developed through an accelerated process involving representatives of the federation, players and staff, adidas and Voetbalshop.nl. He said the national colors and wave pattern were intended to reflect the island and the resilience of its people.
Curaçao will debut its new away kit in its match against Scotland on Saturday, May 30. The new home kit will make its on-field debut against Aruba in Curaçao on Saturday, June 6.
The team will have blue shorts and socks for the home uniform, with yellow shorts and socks available as an alternative combination.
The new home kit is available immediately, alongside the away kit and the team’s training and travel apparel. In Curaçao, the collection is available exclusively at the Official FFK Fanshop in Sambil shopping center.
In the Netherlands and Belgium, the collection is available through Voetbalshop stores and its online Curaçao shop. Match jerseys will also be available in other European countries through adidas stores in Paris, London and Berlin, as well as online.
Fans in the United States will be able to purchase the collection online, through adidas stores and at official sales points during The Blue Wave matches.
FFK, Voetbalshop.nl and adidas will also open a temporary Official Curaçao Fanshop in Rotterdam for supporters in the Netherlands. The shop will be located inside Voetbalshop Rotterdam at Bergselaan 332-C.
