WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao will prepare for its first World Cup appearance with a training camp in Noordwijk, Netherlands, and two friendly matches before opening the tournament against Germany in Houston, according to reports.
The national team, led by Dick Advocaat after his recent return in place of Fred Rutten, is scheduled to train on the fields of S.J.C. in Noordwijk.
Curaçao’s first training session is scheduled for Monday, May 25, on Whit Monday. The session will be open to the public, with the clubhouse opening at 5 p.m.
The team also is scheduled to hold public training sessions in Noordwijk on May 26, May 27, May 28 and June 2.
Curaçao will play Scotland in Glasgow on May 30 before returning home for a send-off match against neighboring Aruba on June 6.
Curaçao begins its World Cup campaign June 14 against Germany in Houston. Ecuador and Ivory Coast are also in Curaçao’s group.
