WILLEMSTAD (DA) — The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) confirmed during today’s press conference that it has approached Dick Advocaat about a return as head coach of the Curaçao national team.
FFK is looking to finalize the contract sometime this week. If the agreement is completed in time, the squad for Curaçao’s matches against Scotland and Aruba is expected to be revealed Friday.
Advocaat would have the opportunity to bring his own staff if the deal is finalized. It is not yet clear who from Fred Rutten’s staff would stay or return with Advocaat.
FFK also clarified that there was no pressure from players to change coach, despite reports from some media outlets. The federation said the players confirmed during a meeting this past week that they will give their all regardless of who leads the national team.
