MADRID (DA) — Brian Hooi will face Umakhan Ibragimov again for the WOW lightweight title on June 6 at Madrid Arena, in a rematch being promoted as “La Revancha.”
The fight will headline WOW 31, with WOWfc presenting Hooi vs. Ibragimov as a historic matchup and one of the biggest fights on its calendar.
Hooi enters the rematch as the WOW lightweight champion after dethroning Ibragimov in their previous meeting in Madrid. Ibragimov came into that fight as the reigning champion, known for his control, toughness and command of the division.
Hooi matched the pace early and stayed composed through a competitive opening round. As the fight developed, he began finding more space and gaining momentum.
The second round brought heavier exchanges, and Hooi continued to grow into the fight. By the third round, Ibragimov appeared to slow, while Hooi’s timing and precision helped him force the finish and claim the lightweight title.
The rematch now gives Ibragimov a chance to regain the belt, while Hooi will look to defend the title he won from the former champion.
WOW 31 is scheduled for June 6 at Madrid Arena.
