LA GUAIRA (DA) — Curaçao-born outfielder Jurickson Profar is expected to arrive in Venezuela on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and take live batting practice before joining Tiburones de La Guaira’s active roster, according to reports.
Profar is expected to work first with the club’s reserve group, known as the taxi squad. He would not be activated immediately, as earlier reports had suggested when placing his arrival on Monday.
As previously reported by Deporte Awe, La Guaira announced the 33-year-old switch-hitter as a utility player for the 2026-27 Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional season. He was the only position player among the nine imports announced by the club.
The other eight imports were pitchers Alex Carrillo, Evan Gates, Luis Patiño, Jhon Romero, Ramón Santos, Stiven Cruz, Caleb Smith and Ian Churchill.
