Curaçao’s Little League titles and Giendry Ryan earn Guinness recognition

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao’s two Little League World Series championships and a record-setting pitch by Giendry Ryan were honored Saturday during a Guinness World Records recognition ceremony at Plasa Brion.

The island earned recognition as the smallest nation by population to win the Little League World Series twice, following its championships in 2004 and 2026.

Ryan received individual recognition for the fastest pitch in Little League World Series history, giving Curaçao a second baseball entry among the records celebrated at the ceremony.

The honors connect two generations of Curaçao’s Little League success. Its first world championship came in 2004, while this year’s title secured the distinction for the smallest nation to win the tournament twice.

Saturday’s ceremony in Otrobanda recognized both the island’s championship achievement and Ryan’s individual pitching record.
