NIJMEGEN (DA) — Curaçao defender Deveron Fonville could make his return from a shoulder injury when NEC visits Ajax on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The Eredivisie match at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam kicks off at 9 p.m. local time. Fonville could get minutes, though his participation has not been confirmed.
Fonville has been sidelined since suffering the injury against PEC Zwolle on Aug. 29. As previously reported by Deporte Awe, coach Dick Schreuder initially expected him to miss several weeks.
He returned to training during NEC’s recent camp in Spain, with Schreuder taking a cautious approach to his comeback.
