DEN BOSCH (DA) — Shurendy “Bad News” Semeleer needed just 1 minute, 14 seconds to stop Henrique Melo on Saturday, improving his professional MMA record to 2-0 at Levels Fight League 24.
The Curaçao fighter finished Melo with punches in the opening round of their 72-kilogram catchweight bout at Maaspoort in Den Bosch. Referee Danial Sharifi stopped the fight, giving Semeleer his second first-round stoppage in as many MMA appearances.
Semeleer entered mixed martial arts earlier this year after a decorated kickboxing career. He made his MMA debut July 5 at LFL 23 in Amsterdam, stopping Ronny Gomez with strikes in the first round.
Saturday’s victory came even faster and continued the 30-year-old’s unbeaten start in the sport.
Semeleer previously reached the top of GLORY Kickboxing, winning the organization’s welterweight championship in 2022 and successfully defending the title three times before losing it to Chico Kwasi in 2024. He returned to win GLORY’s welterweight tournament in 2025.
With consecutive first-round finishes over Gomez and Melo, Semeleer is now 2-0 since making the move from elite-level kickboxing to professional MMA.
