Nigel Thomas injury leaves Curaçao availability uncertain

THE HAGUE (DA) — ADO Den Haag coach Robin Peter could offer no update on Nigel Thomas’ injury after the Curaçao forward was taken off on a stretcher during a 1-1 draw with SC Cambuur.

Thomas landed awkwardly following a tackle by Cambuur’s Devid Bouah and appeared to hurt his shoulder. He was unable to continue and was replaced by Daryl van Mieghem.

Peter had no further information about the injury after the match. Its precise nature and severity remain unconfirmed.

Thomas was recently called up to the Curaçao men’s national team. The injury raises uncertainty over his availability for the upcoming international matches, but no withdrawal has been confirmed.

According to reports, an ambulance was called to WerkTalent Stadion shortly after Thomas was taken off. It has not been independently confirmed that he was transported to a hospital.

ADO earned a point through substitute Donát Bárány’s 75th-minute equalizer after Fabian Kvam had put Cambuur ahead.
