SANTO DOMINGO (DA) — Jordan Lucas pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout as Curaçao defeated Mexico 1-0 on Monday to claim seventh place in the men’s baseball tournament at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
Lucas worked all 7 innings without allowing a run or issuing a walk. He struck out one batter in the victory at Quisqueya Stadium.
Curaçao scored the game’s only run in the first inning, when Phildrick Llewellyn crossed the plate. The lead held for the remainder of the game as Lucas kept Mexico off the scoreboard.
Sherten Apostel led Curaçao’s offense by going 2-for-3. Jeandro Tromp, Llewellyn and Tanzeel Groetelaers each added one hit as Curaçao finished with five.
Mexico recorded three hits and committed one error. Curaçao also committed one error.
Daniel Zazueta Mendivil was charged with the loss for Mexico.
