Curaçao placed in Group A of the CONCACAF Nations League

MIAMI (DA) — Curaçao was drawn alongside Costa Rica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Group A of League A in the 2026-27 CONCACAF Nations League.

The draw for the fifth edition of the competition was held Thursday in Miami. The tournament will also serve as the qualifying pathway for the 2027 CONCACAF Gold Cup, although the exact qualification criteria will be announced later.

League A’s group stage will use a Swiss-style format. Curaçao will play four matches — two at home and two away — meaning it will not face all five of the other teams in the group. The group stage will be played during the FIFA international window from Sept. 21 through Oct. 6.

The top two finishers in Group A will advance to the quarterfinals, along with the top two teams from Group B, which consists of Honduras, Jamaica, Guatemala, Suriname, Martinique and El Salvador.

Mexico, the United States, Canada and Panama, the four highest-ranked teams in League A, received direct entry into the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals will be played over two legs from Nov. 9-17. The four aggregate winners will qualify for the CONCACAF Nations League Finals, scheduled for March 25-28, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Curaçao’s four opponents, match dates and venues for the group stage were not announced during the draw.

Three other Dutch Caribbean national teams also learned the composition of their respective groups.

Bonaire was placed in Group C of League B alongside Cuba, Grenada and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Each team will play six matches, facing every group opponent twice. The four group winners will advance to the League B Championship, which will be held in March 2027.

Sint Maarten will compete in Group D of League B alongside French Guiana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Belize.

Aruba was placed in Group B of League C alongside Antigua and Barbuda and Anguilla. Each team will play four matches, facing each opponent twice during the September-October window. The three group winners and the best second-place finisher will advance to the League C Championship.

Promotion and relegation will remain in effect. The teams finishing fifth and sixth in each League A group will be relegated to League B. The League B group winners will earn promotion to League A, while the last-place teams will drop to League C. The League C group winners and the best second-place finisher will be promoted to League B.
