Inter Willemstad to face Dublanc-St. John’s winner in CFU Club Shield round of 16

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao’s Inter Willemstad received a first-round bye and will face either Dublanc FC of Dominica or St. John’s Sports Club of Grenada in the round of 16 of the 2026 CFU Club Shield.

Inter Willemstad was among the three highest-ranked amateur clubs in the draw, joining Metropolitan FA of Puerto Rico and SV Britannia of Aruba in advancing directly to the round of 16.

Dublanc and St. John’s will meet during the first round, scheduled for July 23 and 24. Inter Willemstad will then face the winner in the round of 16 on July 25 or 26.

A victory would send the Curaçao club into a quarterfinal against either Delfines del Este FC of the Dominican Republic or the winner of the first-round match between Elite Sports Club of the Cayman Islands and Virgin Gorda United Club of the British Virgin Islands.

The 22-team tournament will be played in Trinidad and Tobago from July 23 through Aug. 2 using a single-elimination format. The quarterfinals are scheduled for July 28, followed by the semifinals on July 31 and the final on Aug. 2.

The champion and runner-up will qualify for the 2026 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup, which features 10 clubs and provides a pathway to the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
