EINDHOVEN (DA) — Armando Obispo’s potential move to RC Lens appears to be edging closer, with the French club not far from PSV Eindhoven’s valuation of approximately €5 million, according to sources close to the negotiations.
PSV rejected Lens’ opening offer, believed to be between €3 million and €4 million, and has remained firm on its asking price for the Curaçao international.
The difference between the clubs has narrowed, however, and negotiations remain active. Discussions are expected to continue over the coming days as Lens attempts to reach an agreement for the 27-year-old central defender.
No deal has been completed, and PSV is under no pressure to sell Obispo. According to sources, the transfer is still expected to materialize if Lens meets the Dutch club’s demands, although there is no guarantee an agreement will be reached.
Obispo has one year remaining on his PSV contract. A completed transfer would end his 20-year association with the club, which began when he entered its youth academy in 2006.
The defender recently represented Curaçao at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A move to Lens would give him his first permanent opportunity outside Dutch football and take him to France’s Ligue 1.
