TORREÓN (DA) — Didi Gregorius will be away from Algodoneros Unión Laguna after receiving special permission from the club to attend important family matters outside the Comarca Lagunera.
Unión Laguna said Gregorius and teammate Ricardo Sánchez will be absent for the series against Rieleros de Aguascalientes and Saraperos de Saltillo.
Gregorius, 36, has played 28 games for Unión Laguna this season. The shortstop is batting .204 with 19 hits, 12 runs, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 10 RBIs in 93 at-bats.
He is in his fourth season with Unión Laguna. Gregorius hit .359 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs in 26 games in 2023, followed by a .262 season with 7 home runs and 43 RBIs in 75 games in 2024.
Gregorius played 50 games for the club in 2025, batting .288 with 57 hits, 14 doubles, 2 home runs and 23 RBIs.
