Ozzie Albies hits walk-off homer as Braves beat Brewers

ATLANTA (DA) — Ozzie Albies hit two opposite-field home runs, including a two-run walk-off shot in the ninth inning, to lift the Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday at Truist Park.

Albies’ second homer came off Aaron Ashby with one out in the ninth and a runner on base, giving Atlanta the win after Milwaukee had taken a 3-2 lead. The blast was his 12th home run of the season and capped a three-hit game.

The Curaçao second baseman also homered in the fifth inning off Harrison, sending an 0-2 pitch out to the opposite field for his 11th homer of the season.

It was Albies’ fourth career walk-off homer and his first since June 8, 2023, against New York-NL. It also marked his 11th career multi-homer game, his first since Aug. 26, 2025, at Miami, and his first at Truist Park since April 25, 2023.

Albies entered the day among MLB’s best hitters in 0-2 counts this season, batting .400 in those situations. His first homer Saturday was his first in an 0-2 count since July 4, 2023.

Dylan Lee earned the win for Atlanta, improving to 3-0 with a 1.08 ERA. Ashby took the loss, falling to 10-1 with a 3.18 ERA. There was no save.

Milwaukee finished with 3 runs, 8 hits and no errors. Atlanta had 4 runs, 6 hits and 1 error.

Albies now has 12 home runs this season, tied with Ketel Marte for the second most among primary second basemen. He also recorded his eighth three-hit game of the season, tied for second most in MLB, and has 16 extra-base hits against left-handed pitchers, second in the majors behind Matt Olson.
