WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao’s Ozzie Albies leads all National League second basemen in the first 2026 MLB All-Star balloting update, putting the Atlanta Braves infielder in position for his first fan-elected starting assignment.
Albies has received 517,147 votes, ahead of Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott with 399,729 and Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang with 373,656.
The 29-year-old is bidding for his fourth All-Star selection. If Albies holds the lead through the voting process, he would become the first Braves second baseman to win a fan election since Dan Uggla in 2012.
Albies is batting .279 with 10 home runs, 37 RBIs, 13 doubles, 45 runs, 1 stolen base and a .772 OPS this season.
The Braves, who have the best record in MLB at 46-25, have several players among the NL leaders. Drake Baldwin leads NL catchers with 972,813 votes, while Ronald Acuña Jr. ranks second among NL outfielders with 693,472 votes.
Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers leads all Major League players with 1,165,133 votes. Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros leads the American League with 1,015,768 votes.
Phase 1 voting continues until noon ET on June 25. The top two vote-getters at each position, and the top six outfielders in each league, will advance to the second phase of voting. The leading vote-getter in each league during Phase 1 receives an automatic starting spot.
Finalists will be announced June 25 on MLB Network. Phase 2 voting runs from June 29 to July 2, with starters and full All-Star rosters scheduled to be announced July 4 on FOX.
The 2026 MLB All-Star Game will be played July 14 in Philadelphia.
