WILLEMSTAD (DA) — The Curaçao national team will leave Curaçao for the United States on Monday as the Blue Wave takes another major step toward its historic first FIFA World Cup.
The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) said the squad will depart through Jet Center Curaçao instead of the commercial terminal.
Because of that, the public will not have access to the departure area, FFK said.
The aircraft carrying the team, a Corendon Dutch Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9, arrived in Curaçao on Sunday after flying from Amsterdam via Terceira. The plane landed at Curaçao International Airport at Hato at 3:21 p.m.
The aircraft overnighted in Curaçao and is scheduled to take the squad later today to West Palm Beach, Florida, near the team’s World Cup base camp in Boca Raton.
The Curaçao-to-West Palm Beach flight is scheduled to depart at 2 p.m. and arrive at 5:20 p.m.
