Nos Pais Television lands exclusive Curaçao rights to broadcast all 104 World Cup matches

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Nos Pais Television has signed an exclusive agreement with FIFA for the television and radio broadcast rights to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving the station the right to air all 104 matches from June 11 to July 19.

The tournament will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada and will feature 48 countries for the first time, expanding from the previous 32-team format.

Nos Pais Television will serve as the official World Cup channel in Curaçao, broadcasting every match of the biggest sporting event in the world. The coverage will include the matches of the Blue Wave, which qualified for the World Cup for the first time in history.

The matches will be available on Nos Pais Television’s digital platforms, channels 104 and 88, YouTube channel, website and mobile app.

For Nos Pais Television, the agreement marks a major step for a station that recently celebrated its 12th anniversary. The channel previously carried major baseball events, from the Caribbean Series to Major League Baseball, and now moves into full World Cup coverage.

Mavis Albertina, the owner and CEO of Nos Pais Television, has spent 55 years in media and communications and views the World Cup rights as more than a football milestone. She described it as a historic achievement for the station and an opportunity to keep building its identity as an innovative and educational television channel.

Albertina also framed the achievement as a gift to the community after years of support, comparing the station’s journey to the Blue Wave’s own dream becoming reality through hard work, sacrifice and resilience.

The production will be a major challenge for Nos Pais Television, with 104 matches to air and coverage that will include presenters and analysts. On days with three or more matches, the station may also use full match commentary broadcasts.

Nos Pais Television also acquired the radio broadcast rights for the World Cup and is open to selling those rights through a more commercial partnership.

The station plans to use the World Cup broadcasts as part of a broader nation-building effort, encouraging neighborhoods, schools and groups of friends to watch matches together. Nos Pais Television is calling on community centers, schools and gathering places with large screens and digital connections to take part.

During the live football broadcasts, the channel plans to visit those locations and share the atmosphere and celebration with viewers across Curaçao.
