WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Vincent Schildkamp will succeed Kees Jansma as press chief of Curaçao, according to reports, adding a new media figure to Dick Advocaat’s staff ahead of the World Cup.
Schildkamp, a commentator for ESPN and Ziggo Sport, has received permission from ESPN to take on the role with Curaçao during the tournament.
He replaces Jansma, who stepped down after it became known that Advocaat would return as head coach. Advocaat returned following the departure of Fred Rutten.
Schildkamp’s reported appointment gives Curaçao a new press chief during a period of major changes around the national team staff, with Advocaat back in charge as The Blue Wave prepare for their first World Cup appearance.
