Curaçao crushes Brazil 14-0 to win bronze in baseball at South American Youth Games

PANAMA CITY (DA) — Curaçao rolled past Brazil 14-0 on Saturday to capture the bronze medal in baseball at the IV Juegos Suramericanos de la Juventud Panamá 2026.

Curaçao put the game away early, scoring once in the first inning, adding four more in the third and erupting for nine runs in the fourth.

The Curaçao offense produced 10 hits, while Brazil was limited to three. Curaçao committed one error and Brazil played error-free.

Shemar Sophia Jacobus and Jeadyon Chirino each drove in three runs for Curaçao. Jay-dlynn Wiel also had three RBIs, while Nasir El-Ossaïs finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Claeten Sille went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and R’jeau Valks scored once, drove in a run and drew three walks. Raishelnon Ogenia scored three times, while Victor Nieves Mack crossed the plate twice and added an RBI.

Qshondrickson Doran earned the win for Curaçao. Kaue Igi Soares took the loss for Brazil.

The victory gave Curaçao a place on the podium after finishing fourth in the opening round with a 2-3 record.
