WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Aruba defeated Curaçao 6-1 on April 13 at Stadion Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca in a 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers Group E match, leaving Curaçao at the bottom of the standings after three matches.
Tarianna Doornkamp opened the scoring in the sixth minute for Aruba, and Soraya Verhoeve doubled the lead in the 43rd with a free kick to send Aruba into halftime ahead 2-0.
Curaçao pulled one back early in the second half when Amazia Burnet scored in the 52nd minute after a through ball from Shi-jona Martina cut the deficit to 2-1.
Aruba restored its two-goal cushion two minutes later when Doornkamp converted a penalty in the 54th minute.
The visitors kept pushing from there. Aisse Gumbs made it 4-1 in the 67th minute, Adannayah Breinburg added Aruba’s fifth in the 80th, and Jennifer Henao scored in stoppage time to complete the 6-1 result.
The loss left Curaçao fifth in Group E with no points from three matches. Aruba moved to third with six points from four matches, behind Panama on nine and Cuba on seven, while St. Kitts and Nevis had one point from three matches.
Curaçao’s next match is scheduled for April 17 against St. Kitts and Nevis at the NBG Technical Center in St. Peter’s.
The sides last met on Feb. 21, 2022, when St. Kitts and Nevis defeated Curaçao 5-1 in the Concacaf W Championship.
