MIAMI (DA) — Curaçao international Eloy Room has been named the USL Championship’s Week 5 Save of the Week after his standout stop for Miami FC against Hartford Athletic.
Room earned the honor for a one-handed save that denied Hartford’s Sebastian Anderson on a curling effort headed toward the top-right corner at Pitbull Stadium on April 4.
The veteran goalkeeper had been one of four nominees for the league’s Fans’ Choice Save of the Week award.
Also nominated were Hartford Athletic’s Antony Siaha, Charleston Battery’s Luis Zamudio and Indy Eleven’s Eric Dick.
Room’s latest recognition adds to a strong start to the season for the Curaçao goalkeeper, whose save stood out among the top stops produced across the USL Championship during the opening week of April.
