WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao held its final training session Thursday before Friday’s FIFA Series opener against China, while Armando Obispo, Deveron Fonville and Jürgen Locadia will not be part of the squad in Australia.
The session took place at Western Sydney Wanderers Football Park, about a half-hour from the team hotel in Olympic Park. It was a lighter workout, with coach Fred Rutten observing players ahead of making his selections for the match.
According to Curaçao Football Federation (FFK), the three players are absent in Australia because of injuries or personal reasons.
Curaçao is scheduled to face China on Friday at Accor Stadium in Sydney. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. local time, which is 2 a.m. Friday in Curaçao.
Its second FIFA Series match is scheduled for March 31 against Australia at AAMI Park in Melbourne. Kickoff is set for 8:10 p.m. local time, or 5:10 a.m. in Curaçao.
After the Australia trip, Curaçao’s next confirmed friendly is set for May 30 against Scotland at Barclays Hampden in Glasgow. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. local time, which is 8 a.m. in Curaçao.
