Rutten recalls Bazoer, Chong and Kuwas to Curaçao squad; Paulina left out

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Fred Rutten’s first Curaçao squad includes the return of Riechedly Bazoer, Tahith Chong and Brandley Kuwas for upcoming matches against Australia and China, while Jordi Paulina is the only player from the November group for the World Cup qualifier against Jamaica not included this time.

The selection keeps the broader core in place from Curaçao’s last qualifier under Dick Advocaat, but Rutten has brought back three familiar names rather than introducing any newcomers.

Bazoer gives Curaçao an added option in the back line, while Chong and Kuwas return as attacking pieces for the new window. Their inclusion marks the main shift from the Jamaica squad.

Paulina is the only player from that November group to drop out.

The overall makeup of the squad points to continuity at the start of Rutten’s tenure. Rather than reshaping the roster, Curaçao has stayed with the group that closed the qualifying campaign and folded returning players back into it.

That leaves the latest squad looking more like an adjusted version of the November group than a reset, with the changes centered on returning experience and one omission.
