Cuba blanks Curaçao women as Rodriguez converts three penalties in the 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers

SANTIAGO DE CUBA (DA) — Cuba handed Curaçao Women a 3-0 defeat in the 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers on Sunday, with Katheryn Rodriguez scoring all three goals from the penalty spot at Estadio Antonio Maceo.

Rodriguez opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, struck again in the 59th, and completed her three-goal night with another penalty in the 90th.

Curaçao created chances but could not break through. Lucylena Martínez made key saves for Cuba, including late stops on Kadisha Martina in stoppage time, while also denying efforts from Amazia Burnet, Ralycia Finies and Ruwenna Cristina.

Curaçao goalkeeper Kingnaichely Provence also produced several saves to keep the match within reach, but Cuba’s pressure eventually told.

The result left Curaçao at the bottom of Group E with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of minus-8. Cuba moved to the top of the group with four points from two matches.

Curaçao’s next scheduled match is set for April 14 against Aruba, with the time and venue still to be confirmed.
